A lovely day up in the mountains that let me try a huge sample of some new NC locals. Always thrilled when a day works out like this one did.
Pour is a thick dark brown with a nearly opaque look to it that really just makes me think of that river of chocolate in Willy Wonka. Small cap of light tan hits the top of the glass, but only for a moment and settles down rather quickly leaving just a token bit of lacing around the top. Aroma is deep mint, those little candies you get in a restaurant would be a perfect fit for this. Smooth, decadent taste, with a clean, crisp mint flavor that really adds to it quite nicely. Each sip brings out more milk chocolate and hints of mint.
Overall a bit heavy for a hot day, but this one worked quite nicely. I would have no issue if this one were to hit bottles grabbing it up sometime. Really seemed to work quite well I have to admit.
