Birrificio Lambrate "Robb De Matt"
€6,50 / .4 L glass alla spina @ Birreria Popolare, Bologna
Notes: This is a rye IPA at 5.5% ~ more of a pale ale really. In the Milanese dialect "Roba da matti!" means "crazy stuff", and I'm guessing, just maybe, that some of the people involved are named Robb and Matt.
Look: A hazy golden body is capped by a finger's width of white head that holds well and leaves some decent lacing behind.
Smell: Sweetish and bready malt with grassy and citrusy hops (orange, grapefruit) and a bit of herbal character with some garlic & onion (are there some Summit hops involved?).
Taste: Sweetish, grainy, bready, and spicy/herbal with a solid bitterness of over 50 IBUs. It's nice that there's enough rye that you can taste it but not so much that it becomes too spicy.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: Quite a nice rye beer but it could use a little bit more hops, and maybe a touch more alcohol, as an IPA. Still great.

A crazy hoppy, bitter beer with rye hints in the middle that carry through hand and hand to the end. Citrus notes start to turn up as you drink, good beer.
