Notes: Hoppy bock beer, bright red in colour with ruby – red tinge. Taste of caramel and herbal hoppy notes are followed by scents dried fruit and a well balanced sweetness of malt and bitterness of a big amount of hops.

The foam is abundant, but not uniform. The colour is dark mahogany. Smell of malt, honey, sweet. Toasted malt even in the taste, with caramel. The taste is better than the smell. Cherry. Bitter aftertaste, not too much, but quite persistent. In the end, a good beer, beside the initial delusion for the poor smell.

660ml brown bottle purchased from Slowbeer in Melbourne. Shared with Rich and Frosty during a brewday.

Pours a slightly hazy brown colour with a relatively fine head of almond-white. Light speckled lacing forms on the glass. Body is fine and firm, and holds some lovely, powdery carbonation. Looks good.

Nose is rather subdued, especially given the "Hopped Bock" of the label. Grainy, pleasant malt character, with a hint of orange peel or something bitey and a little citric. It's very subdued though, the hops are certainly not prominent. Not bad, but not extremely exciting.

Taste is better: smooth and bright, but with a solid grainy malt basis. On the back the hops come through, with a clean, slightly citric bitterness. Aftertaste has more of that lightly sweet orange character. It's all very nice stuff.

Feel is also good. Smooth but liquid and clean.

Very drinkable, especially for the ABV. It's clean and bright, with enough weight to balance it, and provides an interestingly different experience. Overall I did like it a lot.

Cloudy dark brown colour with a smooth light tan head. Fair head retention. Good lacing.

Sharp, almost lemony hop character with mild creamy malt. Melanoidin.

Malty, rich, bitter and hoppy. Really interesting combination. The characteristic melanoidins expected in a bock are here then the hoppiness and bitterness that adds an extra dimension. Pretty cool.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Quite rich.

An interesting beer. I like the combination of hops and interesting malty bock. Cool.

It pours a clear brown/black colour with a small tan head. Aromas of sweet malt, caramel, bread, cereals & yeasts. Tastes of caramel, bread, cereals, dark toasted sweet malts, dark fruits & yeast. Soft carbonation, full bodied. Light bitterness with a dry bittersweet finish.
