October 2011: Bottle, as Whole Milk Mild, at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. ABV 3.5%. Brewed for Alex Liberati at Brouwerij de Molen. OG 1037, FG 1011, IBU 22.1. Hops are Premiant and Sladek. Unfiltered. "Each label scratched by a genuine cat." Dark brown colour, large beige head. Intense aroma of pine wood, stale sea water and ashes, possibly infected? The flavour is lactic and smooth, a slight roastiness, just a hint of wood and sea water.

Bottle: Poured a clear light black color ale with a super huge foamy head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma consists of caramelized malt with some light roasted notes and a on of lactose. Taste is quiet different with some good notes of caramel and lightly sweet roasted malt with some lactose. Some black chocolate notes could also be detected. Body was light with super great carbonation. This is a singular beer for sure and I something I could see drinking on a semi-regular basis.

I got this beer for free in the Molen beer shop. I guess I spend to much money there.

A - A nice clear dark brown beer with some carbonation bubbles that go up to the fallen head. The heads retention was rather quick. It went into this 1cm high beige foam ring against the glass, the most beautiful one I have ever laid eyes upon.

S - A milk chocolate beer mixed with yeast and malts. Absolutely different en reasonable inviting.

T - Milk with malts go into a bitter finish. Not bad, but I believe it can be more beautiful. Maybe with the use of some more spices.

M - A little to much carbonation. For a beer of 3,5 ABV it has a lot of taste and body, remarkable done. A light bitter finish and with the carbonation gone, the beer becomes more sticky. The drink ability is good.

O - A good and nice beer, but a little added sweetness would have helped the score.

Got a bottle of this stuff at De Molen during the BOREFTS Festival in 2011. Thanks a lot PP!

From a 75cl bottle into a snifter
Collaboration between De Molen and Revelation Cat
This should be a Dark Mild

APPEARANCE: Pours a big, three finger, thin, loose looking, crackly, light tan head with good retention. Dark brown body, clear, with lots of carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a thick, foamy cap, leaving some chunky lacing down the glass. A film remains leaving some decent, chunky lacing.

SMELL: Dark malts, light cocoa powder, and hints of lactose sugar in there. Some earthy, grassy hop notes as well. Decent strength.

TASTE: Dark malts again with some caramel sweetness and definite lactose sugar. Notes of cocoa powder at the finish as well. Pretty flavorful actually. Bolder aftertaste is sweet with caramel, lactose and some earthy hops, lingering quite nicely on the palate.

PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine and finishes wet on the palate, but not sticky.

OVERALL: Nothing overly impressive, but this was actually much better than I’d expected. For only 3.5%, this thing packs quite a bit of flavor and character in there. Not one I’d pick on purpose, but wouldn’t turn down a glass again sometime. Thanks for the this bottle PP. Cheers!

Beer with a singular label, scratched as if by a cat(the brewer's logo.I checked all the bottles in the shop and were the same, so it can't be a case).
It pours a bright brown colour with ruby hues and forms a thick, creamy light brown head.
Smell is strangely intense for the style, sweet and persistent,a prevailing sweet nutty tone with hints of caramel, licorice and dried fruits.
When tasted it comes back into style with a bland malty character, which by the end leaves space to hints of chocolate and a remarkeable sweetness given by he lactose added in the brewing.
Maybe a bit too much carbonated for a mild ale, medium bodied and quite drinkable.

This brewer was at the Borefts festival in Bodegraven, the Netherlands with a lot of super beers. In De Molen, a fine dutch brewery, were a lot of good breweries. This was not the best brewer but certainly one of the funniest.

Poured in my the Molen tasting glass this beer looks like a beer but after that every camparison stops. Lactate taste, soft and milky.

This beer was categirized as mild and indeed it was.

The guy behind the bar had drank too much from all the brews there were and he gave the beer away for free!! A very funny italian guy who made this festival very special.
