500 ml bottle, available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger in a very limited quantity. Produced in 2011 and matured a year. ABV is 14%. Bottle No. 685 out of 1650. Pitch black colour, low brown head. Intense and lovely aroma of dark malts, molasses, vanilla, chocolate and coffee, hints of fortified wine. Warming and oily mouthfeel, as expected. Very sweet and intensely malty flavour, with molasses and caramel galore, also plenty of chocolate and vanilla. Coffee and hops in the finish. Great now, but probably good for cellaring for another 20 years.

Poured from the bottle into a tasting snifter.
Appearance: Black with a mild tan head. The head fades to a thin ring around the pour.
Smell: Sweet and reminds me of dessert wine. I'm getting roasted malt and dark chocolate.
Taste: Sweet with dark fruit and a pleasant roasted malt undertone. I'm getting some caramel and vanilla like notes as well. There is a hint of port that goes well with the roast. The finish is a little bit boozy.
Mouthfeel: The body is syrupy with tingly carbonation and a slick finish.
Overall: This was a very sweet beer and it could have been smoother. That being said, there was enough going on to keep my interested. I enjoyed it enough.

Brewer's Desription:
A massive Imperial Stout. The first IS brewed by Revelation Cat. Aged for nearly a year in steel tanks and fermented out to 14% Bottled in 2012 in limited quantity and released slowly throughout the following years. On the bottle: "Black Knight’s sure you’d love to know. But you’re just gonna have to find out ’Cause you’re not gonna get the recipe on the freakin’ bottle And beware of the 14% He’s gonna mess with you" "Keep it Cool and age this beer"
Shared by Travlr. Thanks Gene.
The beer is black in body, dark brown around the edges. Weak beige head. Nose and flavor both bring a heavy dose of milk chocolate. Smooth feel on the palate. Tasty blend of milk and dark chocolates follow by a delicate roast character. Tasty.
