Pours clear, ruby red (SRM 17-18). The two-inch beige foam slowly drops to a creamy texture, leaving patchy lace above a viscous film.
The Offero glass brings out sweet, smoky peat and fresh-cut oak. Warmth brings out some band-aid aromas.
Fresh fruit with no real whiskey flavors. Oak is present with slight acidic notes. Generally quite sweet with a light, lingering finish. Plum flavors are noticeable and reminiscent of Sangria.
Explosive carbonation with well-controlled alcohol. A medium body with silky texture.
Overall, this beer falls short of my hopes, all be them self-inflicted. It is, however, a fine, relaxing beer. What it lacks in complexity, it makes up for in its refreshing character.
