I think this brewery bottle conditions all their beers. I've had their stout which was bottled this way and it seems they also do this with their double IPA, being uncommon for both styles. The double IPA pours with a big frothy white head with lots of lacing. Nice head but the body is kind of a dull yellow swamp-water colour with little specks of sediment. Is it cool to bottle condition a double IPA?

Lots of minerals and yeast on the nose, with some tropical fruit (mango, pineapple, lychee), floral and a bit soapy with a hint of coconut. Pretty alright actually.

I didn't know what to make of this at first, it caught me off guard. Definitely more of a Belgian double IPA than American-style (though it doesn't advertise itself as Belgian-style anything). Lots of minerals and yeast again, subtly floral with lemon, pine and alcohol coming together to create a flavour not unlike gin. Moderate bitterness. Ethanol and a hint of grapefruit linger on the finish.

Way too carbonated. Each sip makes my tongue feel like it's drowning in carbonation. Medium body.

This isn't terrible but it's not what I was hoping for. Alcohol is definitely too hot and the carbonation is way too much. With those two aspects fixed it could be a cool Belgian IPA but as is I wouldn't recommend it.

Bottle: Poured a deep dirty beige color ale with a super huge foamy head with perfect retention and extraordinary lacing. Aroma of floral and slightly citrusy hops is quite interesting. Taste is dominated by nice floral hops with medium citrus notes and a bitter finish. Malt base is present though not necessarily discernable. Body is quite with super good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I must admit to being pleasantly surprised by this one and it also appears I am against the grain…

Hurrah, another Quebec Double IPA.
Lots of rust under the cap.

A- Looks like a very cloudy but light mango juice going from yellow to orange to brown. Loose, big-bubbled and frothy off-white head. Last pour had a bunch of brown floaties.

S- Sharp orange juice, lemon zest and a tiny alcohol burn. Traces of grassiness.

T- The smell worried me because it's usuallynot the profile I'm looking for in a DIPA but this is good. Tastes like an extremely smooth orange and grapefruit cocktail but with very little bitterness and acidity and not much sweetness either. A little grassy or veggie like too but not enough to bother me (although I do think it would be better without). One of the lightest DIPA's I've tasted. Alcohol tastes fine and comes out at room temperature.

M- Have this one cold. I got it from the fridge at the store and went straight home but it's already too warm making the mouthfeel kind of sloppy. Medium carbonation disappears quickly. Feels like a slightly carbonated fruit juice. Seems like a lot of the body is there thanks to the suspended yeast.

O- When craving a Double IPA, I'm looking for a big tropical punch in my mouth with good carbonation, big body and lots of mouthwatering sweetness to counter the complex bitterness. This is not very carbonated, really not bitter or sweet and rather lifeless. But I still like it. I'd probably really like it if it was colder and didn't have that veggie presence.

Might buy it again. Would like to try it on-tap.
