16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of coffee, chocolate, toffee and molasses. Nice bitter roasted coffee with chocolate, roasted caramel malt and toffee. Full-bodied.

From a one pint can, this brew is black, with a reddish-brown hue when held to the light. Small off-white head. The aroma is malty, with a lightly roasted, toast quality. Chocolate milk and powdered is very notable. The taste is full, moderately sweet, and has a grain and chocolate flavor. Full, rich body. Enjoyable, but not exceptional.

Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, roasted malt, slight hops, hint of chocolate, and a hint of earthiness. Fits the style of a Milk / Sweet Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, lactose, hint of chocolate, slight roasted malt, and slight hops. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend, with a good feel. The complexity is lacking though and the flavors almost blend too much and lost their distinction.

I can describe it the same way I've described almost everything I've ever had from Great River: "It's good. Not great, but it's good". Too flat, even by stout standards, and has more of the potency of a coffee stout than the creaminess of a milk stout.

Aroma is dry/earthy dark malts and a hint of lactic acid. The flavor is dark malts, chocolate, mild sweetness and a slightly acidic/mostly smooth finish.
