Appearance - Pours a dark chocolate brown with two fingers of frothy tan head.
Smell - roasted coffee, roasted malts, hint of dark chocolate, vanilla, hint of dark fruits, and hint of earthy hops.
Taste - Pleasant start with the roasted coffee bean and roasted malts followed by the vanilla, hint of dark chocolate, earthy hops, and dark fruits.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant creamy texture. The roasted malts and bitterness from the coffee linger.
Overall - A well crafted porter that has pleasant roasted flavours. It is nice to see Banff Brewing working with a local roaster with this one. If your in the town of Banff, grab yourself a bottle or pint as it is a nice way to warm up on these cool fall evenings in Alberta.
