This could be my new favourite from the good folks at Banff Avenue. I am very pleased to see the expansion of their styles to a Double IPA, and equally pleased to provide a favourable review of this creation. The added hop profile is complex without being overbearing. Well done!

Appearance - Pours a cloudy amber with two fingers of foamy white head.
Smell - citrus hops, tropical fruits (passionfruit, mango, hint of pineapple), bready caramalts.
Taste - Upfront with the citrus hops then goes into the tropical fruits (mainly the sour type) of passionfruit, mango, hint of pineapple, bitter grapefruit rind, and bready caramalts.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant lingering bitterness from the citrus hops and bitter grapefruit rind.
Overall - A DIPA with a pleasant citrus hop and sour tropical fruit profile. The aromas lacked greatly and suggested a lightly hopped brew but the taste was the complete opposite. Some adjustments in the hop department will make the aromas where the taste is. Otherwise, good to see Banff using their creative juices and brewing a bold brew like this.
