Straight from the tap at Banff Ave. Brewing Co. (brought home in a howler)
Appearance - Pours a slightly hazy deep gold with a finger width of bubbly white head.
Smell - Pale wheat malts, citrus hops, pineapple, lemon.
Taste - Begins with the pale wheat malts, followed up with moderate bitterness from the citrus hops. Pineapple/tropical fruit and lemon come through as well. I get a little banana/yeast ester.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant bitterness and a touch of dryness.
Overall - An American pale wheat ale that delivers on wheat malts and selects great hop choices. The appearance could use a little more tweaking, but still tasty after post-winter activities (skiing, snowshoeing, etc).
