Dark amber body; fluffy, thick, white head. Mildly sweet aroma; delicate fruit aroma; pear. Faint malt flavors; biscuit; crystal malt sweetness; biting, metallic hop bitterness. Coarse and water mouthfeel; mostly dry throughout.
Cracking the bottle open produced a minor gusher of suds and, despite respectable appearance and aroma, the rest of the experience was less than thrilling. The beer seems weak overall despite a mildly warm, grain flavor, and the mouthfeel just lacks substance other than a seltzer water like touch. The most negative aspect is the rather harsh hop bitterness. There is not much depth and the balance seems out of whack. Drinkable but not highly recommended.
