a - poured a one finger thick off-white head into a weizen glass. the body was a somewhat dull, straw golden color with a slight haze.
s - floral hops and honey dominate the aroma.
t - green apples, honey and bread.
m - slick and thin.
o - a little bit of a hefe comes through in the appearance but other than that this is a wheatwine. i'm not a huge fan of wheatwines but this one grew on me.

An Imperial Hefewein, which is basically a wheat wine using a hefewiessen yeast strain. Pours out a golden yellow color with a slight hazy appearance. A soft white head with ok retention. Some lacing when swirled but light from its 9.3%.

The nose is light overall. A good ester and phenol aroma with a light banana and clovy undertones. Some limited wheat and malty notes. A light citrus note but light compared to the taste. No real off notes to speak of.

The taste is a bit more expressive. The malt comes out nicely and balances well with the banana and cloves. The citrus note, which is more of a lemony orange note, really balances well and continues into the finish. The wheat notes are limited but there is a good finish. Some minor yeasty notes but really subtle. More comes out from the phenolics and esters.

The body is moderate. Some carbonic bite but light. The alcohol is hidden as it has more of a traditional hefe feel. A bit light but overall a very nice beer.
