On tap at Grimm. Going outside of Germany are we? Pours a mostly hazy orange color with some darker red hues throughout. Good head and retention.
A soft malt aroma with noticeable yeast aromas. A sweeter almost candi-esk like smell. Some hints of fruits, pears and apples. Some minor hops but really more malty and ester notes overall.
The taste is a bit more pronounced. A malty upfront flavor but is balanced by a hoppy and yeasty flavor in the finish. The hops are a touch much for style, but ok. The esters and phenols come out more vs the nose. A good pear, plum and apple notes. Some lingering yeasty notes and a hint of astringent hops but mostly clean.
The body is moderate to sweet. Sweet up font but balances out. Light carbonation but ok. Overall, good for style.
