pours a lightly hazy gold with a big thick solid white head (served off of nitro). aromas of floral hops rise up, nothing to harsh like some IPA's and rather welcoming and pleasant. the taste dosn't come out swinging either, nice and mellow (by most west coast IPA standards), definate hop presence, floral and aromatic, but not huge and overly bitter. it reminds of more of an english style IPA. a bit sweet and a defiant malt character round this out well. very creamy in the mouth (a bit odd feeling) and easily drinkable. this is a good hoppy beer, while not comparable to some high octane IPA's like stone or anderson valley, it is a different beast, a mellower one, with less bark and less bite, but that makes it a much better session beer. well, maybe not....it is 7.2% abv.
