Appearance: black in color with a big two inch head that stuck around awhile before receding. Nice lace on the glass too.
Smell: spicy nose with some grapefruit tones.
Taste: roasted malt, rye, hint of dark chocolate, and some grapefruit make up a flavorful beer. Bitterness is nicely balancing, and the alcohol is slightly warming.
Mouthfeel: lightly crisp throughout with a bit of dryness late. Long lasting aftertaste here.
Overall: a very enjoyable Black Rye IPA that has a bit of a kick to it. I found this to be very satisfying.
