Sampled on tap at the brewpub.
This weizenbock poured a cloudy, coffee-colored brown with creamy, tan foam that hung around a while but eventually settled. The smell was a pleasing fruity banana plus cloves aroma with a good bit of maltiness. The taste was lightly sweet and malty with flavors of caramel, toasted coconut, banana, and cloves, and all followed by a hint of tartness in the finish. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy with a bit of a citrus tang. The body was medium-full with good carbonation. The maltiness and citrus tang lingered in the aftertaste. This was a very drinkable and enjoyable weizenbock.

Presentation: Mug #7 of #9, imbibed as part of a 4oz Sampler arrangement during a recent visit to the Chicago Brewing Pub in Las Vegas with BAs UncleJimbo, DukeofEarl and his friend Ozzie.
Told that this was the Weizenbock, and a Special house brew.
Appearance: Cloudy hazed darkish brown body, toffee brown head that clung to the sides and did not want to break up but eventually it did give up the fight and remained a halo like head but it remained and that counts. Minimal lacing. Smooth fine bubbled conditioning.
Smell: Deep rich sweet malts and lots of baked bananas. Cloves in the back end and a super fruity malty nose that begs to be inhaled.
Taste: Seems I left the best of the Specials until last. An immensely tasty offering that had tremendous depth and complexity. Oh how I enjoyed this one, Superb!!
Mouthfeel: Solid and uncompromising, huge toffee and caramel feel, bold banana covered in warm Lyons golden treacle blanket.
Drinkability: Oh my, how I thoroughly enjoyed this one, a real surprise and a tasty treat from the Chicago. They should make this one a regular offering.
Overall: A really smooth Weizenbock, I dont like comparisons but this really did remind me of Aventinus. Very Moorish.
Highly Recommended!
