Appearance: light brown in color with a 1" head that slowly falls to a spotty surface foam. Some spotty lace develops during the session.
Smell: yeast along with malt and brown sugar sweetness dominate the aroma. Very pleasant on the nose.
Taste: nice malt profile with yeast, hint of pepper, some brown sugar, and a moderate bitterness. Alcohol is barely noticeable.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Lightly crisp from start to finish. Aftertaste is short lived.
Drinkability: this is a very well balanced dubbel that goes down quickly despite the higher alcohol level. This should become a standard offering at Chicago.
