a collaboration with the newly famous texas freetail operation this one may feature apollo hops, or some other new world varietal like it. its just orange tinted but rather pale and clear. carbonation and head appear to be about average. in fact, everything about this ipa is about average. its really tasty, but its about the craft industry standard for ipa these days. interesting and assertive hops, barely balanced, but they are, over a medium bodied crisp beer with a touch of residual sweetness. sounds like the brewers association style guidelines right? well, this doesnt deviate a bit, despite its free wheeling name, its very in line with what they ask for. that said, its super flavorful, sweet hop complexion especially in the finish, and a cruisy strong abv that really sneaks up. well made, cool of these two outfits to get together, but the beer could be a lot more inventive, even if really well made as it stands.
