Dark amber with a modest, short-lived foam in the Blanche de Chambly flute. Some spritziness with a club soda tang.
The big surprise is that this is brewed with some smoked malt. It's an immediately intriguing taste but subtle. Also an interesting perfumey taste. How about a Rye Kölsch? There's an adventure waiting to be brewed. Some resiny taste and a distinct tang, but overall this is a mellower kind of Rye. Some sweet maltiness along with the sharper notes.
A highly drinkable aromatic brew. It's fruity, faintly smoked, and just a little bitterish at the finish. From the 32 oz jug purchased at the brewery in central Denver.
