We were heading back home to Wichita last Sunday after celebrating with the brew crew from SKA Brewing. This was their 15th anniversary party.
As we entered Gunnison from the West I saw the White Buffalo Peace Ale Logo from Crested Butte Brewing on the exterior. We pulled in and had a pint of their Jokerville IPA.
They relocated in Gunnison 18 months after the roof caved in on the brewery in Crested Butte. The new place used to be a Ford Truck Dealership. Show room is now the bar and the mechanic shop was the brewery. Perfect location right off the highway and with room to expand.
Drove by there in September 2011 and the place was CLOSED!

Stopped in on a Saturday evening on our way to camp in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. We were immediately greeted as we walked in. Nice patio outside, and a seating area inside. Very clean and new. Tried all three of their beers (see reviews), but none of the guest beers. Food was good as was the selection. One of the servers told us they had just re-opened, this time serving food, previously only being open to serve beer. Not sure why they moved from Crested Butte to Gunnison though. One of the owners stopped by our table to see how things were and I asked when the live music was going to start and was told Tommy Ray Moody (who played guitar for Aerosmith) lived in Gunnison and was playing that night. Well, I got exicted till I whipped my phone out and googled him. He never played for Aerosmith. He was good, but was very vocal about the fact anyone listening should tip him. We listened to his first set of four songs before taking a break and we split. Musician aside this was a nice place with good beers.
