I'm a bit surprised to see the style labling for this beer. I liked it.
The beer begins with a maltiness that provided a nice backbone for the fruity esters and impressive hopping. Much like a Blond Ale, the beer has a clean pilsner malt flavor without the sulfer, phenolic, or emptiness of an adjunct lager. The fruit flavors are yeasty, spicy, and clean while contribuing to the overall flavor of the beer. Full bodied for such light beer but not heavy, oily, or hot from the alcohols. A pronounced hop flavor and bitterness rides throughout and gives the beer a much needed element of balance and variety.
I'd happily drink another.

Tasted on-tap 05/6/07 at the Ellis Island Casino & Brewery in Las Vegas, NV.
Nice clear golden color with a nice off-white head. Big malty aroma and flavor without being overly sweet. No adjuncts noticed at all. Medium-full bodied with a lightly sweet malt finish. Alcohol level was not overbearing at all - well balanced.
A well made brewpub Lager and the best beer of the 5 available at EI when I was there this time. Their rotating tap seems to be the best beers.
