Found a six pack box of these at the local HEB over the weekend and was excited to try a brewery I wasn't familiar with. Wanted to also try the Bucket Head, but that was bigger than I wanted at the time, so I went with the little brother version.
Pours an ordinary pale straw yellow color with little head despite the heavy carbonation. The nose is maltier than expected, but with a nice light fruit component to it. The taste is where things begin to get interesting here, with strong earthy notes and a well-balanced hoppy bitterness. Maltier than expected, with a strange herbal sweetness that I just can't quite put my finger on. Regardless, I like this flavor a lot. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a distinct crisp finish.
Overall, this is a solid beer. It doesn't do much to impress in the appearance, but I really like it's dry, slightly fruity, malt/hop balance. I will certainly revisit this beer and also seek out other Thirsty Planet brews. Cheers.

BOTTLE: 2018 vintage. 12 fl oz format. Brown glass. Batch 61. Brewed by Kuchar. Best before: 07/16/18.
5.2% ABV. Hopped with Magnum, Cascade, Callista, and Denali.
Has a basic appearance for a pale ale. Clear copper body, off-white head.
Aroma is floral and herbal yet understated. Aromatic intensity is low. Generic pale malt sweetness.
Taste is pleasant and approachable yet disinteresting in terms of hop profile. Has muted floral and herbal notes culminating in a kiss of grapefruit bitterness. Finishes bitter.
Smooth, coating, medium-bodied, wet, scrapey. Overcarbonated.
Drinkable but forgettable. It's not Zombie Dust, nor is it Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (though it does cost more). I can't imagine who'd buy this regularly over the latter - which is widely available in the same market - or more limited beers like the former (I guess a better apples-to-apples comparison would be to locally brewed options like Pinthouse Pizza's pale ales or NXNW's).
