A fantastic porter. Sweat, nutty, dark. Often times the Pints beer in not too chilled-unfortunatley to a fault. The Pint does a pretty good job with all their beers, this one however, is by far the best! Went well with Thai Peanut pasta dish. The beer is worth a "drop by" if you are in the area.

Another great example of a cask conditioned brew from The People's Pint. Pours a dark brown but still translucent with little edges of red and a great frothy head swirling around on top. Smell is malty and has hints of coffee bean in it. The coffee and espresso bean taste is also present in the taste but it doesn't overpower, as I find with some porters and stouts. This is a very well balanced porter with the roasted malts being upfront, yet there's a very present hop characteristic to this beer. Nice. The mouthfeel is a medium smooth texture. Not as thick and heavy as a lot of porters, and that works well in this situation. Another great beer at a great brewpub.

Enjoyed at the brewpub, on cask.

Presentation size a pint of cask-condition ale, with a fluffy 1/2" big-bubbled head which stayed until the end. Hardly any lacing present, oddly enough, what with the ever-present head over this very dark brown, almost opaque brew. Aroma of roasted grains, but little of the often-associated bitterness, and nary a hop to be smelled. Taste was strongly of the dark malt, but almost immediately tempered with a sweetness that was overpowering, yet worked well here. Mouthfeel was of little carbonation, as expected in a cask ale, and as result was smooth, smooth. An all day drinker, in my book, and worth having each visit.
