They've brought this one back and it's solid. A rather light, almost see-through Barleywine and likely more drinkable with less pain as a result.

I tried a couple of glasses of Tanglefoot last night at the brewpub. Served in a 12oz glass, sort of like a small Pils glass. It was a deep, dark yet clear, copper color, with a bit of garnet highlighting it. Head was off-white, creamy and exceedingly fine, though a touch short. Left nice lacing in the glass. Nose was mild, with more malty sweet notes emanating above a light, citrus background. Tanglefoot was a solid medium, and was extremely smooth whilst traversing the palate. Just slid right down the chute.

Possessed much more of the sweet flavors than expected, with caramel malt notes dominating the scene yet making this bier very inviting. Hops were a bit subdued, and on the floral side, lending a nice touch the the finish of the quaff. Not overly complex by any means, yet it is quite drinkable, with the abv being well hidden.

Prosit!!

Popped in to The Pint while waiting in line for a haircut. On the way in I said to myself, "wouldn't it be sweet if they had a Barley Wine??!?" they did. Now keep in mind this brewpub on a clean day could be considered bohemian...at best. Hippie beer.

Not a spectacular Barley Wine, but pretty solid. Came out looking cask-like, cloudy, no head. Between the locals and the hops I was getting "treated", HIGH in both categories. Hops all over the place with this one. Spicy, cinammony mouthfeel. At $3.75 a pint, well worth it.
