neat that this is organic, and its cool to see beers called amber and red coexisting on the same beer menu, pretty solid diversity on the tap list in here, ranging from truly basic to extremely ambitious. i had fun visiting a couple different of their locations when we were in town. this is substantial as this sort of thing goes, deep copper to brick red without much head by the time it reaches our table from the bar, not over hopped but on the hoppy side for the style without pushing the red ipa range, and it has a deep malt base, less sweet and concentrated than many, but definitely still robust to me, more nutty and earthy, the quality of the grain is evident, and i think this is quite well built overall. very little sweetness to this for the style, but there are hints of honey and date to it in the middle, a nice toasted warmth is predominant though, with even a slightly deeper almost roasted element, subtle almond to it as well, and it sets the piney hops up well on the swallow. fuller medium body but i think it works just fine for all this flavor, especially in winter, and i was pleased with how dry and quick and clean this finishes. something a bit bready to the yeast, but its unifying and makes this more well rounded. good carbonation, nice compliment to their tasty pizza in the restaurant, and overall a pretty good hangover beer too. this is a beer drinkers red, not sure why the scores here are so low...

Seems like your typical red ale. Not very suprising in any aspect, except that it is unfiltered so it's a bit hazy. If they bottled, it could go for a bit of time in a bottle, not too sure how it would hold up in a Growler though.
I'm not sure if I would ever get this again with so many other good offerings on tap.

The head had subsided before the pint had even been served to me. The color is a cloudy deep red that is almost brown. The aroma is of sweet malt with a touch of noble hops. Flavor is very clean with a maltiness that is matched by the hops, yet both are very mild. Mouthfeel is very thin and this beer is pretty watery for a Red. No bitterness from the hops or the malt is detected and i must say this beer is very boring. Overall i would rather walk to the liquor store and buy whatever was in the case than this beer.
