clever recipe here, a hazy ipa base but with jalapeno and pineapple, a cool combination and fun in this style, not sure ive seen hot peppers in a hazy before, especially also with the fruit, exotic and good, it really works, and the hops seem nicely selected for both the chilis and the pineapple. blonde and hazy, staw sort of color, muted lister, average white head. the nose is tropical right away, canned pineapple, some fresh pineapple too but no acidity, sweet and without hop greenness or bitterness to me, natural jalapeno, vegetal a little bit, spicy, fresh sliced, seeds and all, spice for sure, but balanced, wheat in the base beer likely, some lightly catty perhaps mosaic character, a light hop spiciness too, mostly dry hops it seems, and the flavor agrees. the chili is subtle up front but i get more of it as it warms, real pepper seems likely, some throat heat on the back end, nice with the hops and the pineapple, which balance it some. starchy grain base makes it feel kind of creamy, its not overly fruited but the pineapple is obvious the whole way, and i think the hops and the extras are wonderful together. some lingering spice outlasts the hops and their oils on the tongue, relaxed carbonation helps it stick around, dont mind at all. i was a little skeptical of this, but its really good, inventive and well executed, a good base hazy too, cool showcase of the peppers and the fruit, really unique. recommended!
