Shared a half a growler that my friend brought back from the Reno pub.
Pours a very dark brown color with a pretty thin off white head.
Aromas are malty. Smoke, campfire, and chocolate. Pretty pleasant.
Taste starts out with some light peat, charred wood, and campfire. And while the smoke is certainly there, and up front, it's a bit restrained and not overpowering. Finish has notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, brown sugars, and a faint mineral hop note.
Mouthfeel is smooth, but a bit too much on the thin side for my liking.
Overall, a pretty decent smoked beer. However, I never tasted any bacon, mostly just tastes like a smoked porter. Worth trying, but don't go in expecting bacon.
