Beer appears a deep brown...under a robust porter category expected to be darker....but I'm not racist. ...
Has lots of raspberry chunks, and floaties.... I'm cool with it lets me know its legit.
I could see though how someone could be turned off.
The smell is malt...a toast and biscuit with oatmeal like quality. ...but still fairly subdued. ..but along the brown porter style. Nothing robust here.
Taste is along the same. Some how very clean...you have to remember there is raspberries floating in the glass. ...
Balanced, clean malt character. Finished with just a touch of roast., and raspberry. It works. However I'm a little let down. ..not sure if it's the lack of robustness or the lack of raspberry...
A solid brown porter...but a little blah...expected more
But damn drinkable...
