My thought on this beer is that they added honey to boost the alcohol and then forced carbonated it before it was fully fermented. Disappointing. When you have this much sweetness, you need to hop it heavily for balance. A prime example of the proper balance is Sam Adam's Boston lager or Kona longboard island lager. No balance to this beer whatsoever. It tastes like Icehouse Edge, but not as much fusel alchohol

A light lager, light in color, gravity and taste.

I've been eying this beer for a while now in local stores around Jacksonville but was not impressed by Engine 15's Red Ale, so I held off. Today I caved in and paid $10.99 for a six-pack of 12oz bottles. The beer pours into a standard pint glass with little to no head (seriously, by the time I walked out to the living room and sat down, the suds were gone) and is a pale yellow (think Miller Lite) in color. The aroma is that of unprocessed sugars, followed by stale malt. Mouthful is thin, as one expects from a golden lager. The flavor is a train wreck. Seriously, I have no idea what beer these other reviewers were drinking, but it wasn't THIS one. Honestly, it tastes like somebody's Mr. Beer Home Brew Kit went wrong. There is way too much undigested sugar in this stuff. The yeast could have continued their work for a lot longer. Sugary grossness followed by sour bread flavor (but not in a good way). I'd rather have a Miller Lite than this and save $4.
Two Hours later and I must amend my original review. This Swill is absolutely disgusting. The sweetness is not just unprocessed sugar, its corn. This might make a fine mash for some Tennessee whiskey, but as a beer, it tastes like it was the straining from a can of sweet corn. OMG, Its making me sick! I suspect all of those who rated this beer highly, also like Bud Light. Both are corn-flavored water, only this crap costs 60% more.

This is about the best score I could possibly give an American light lager. Well made! One of my absolute favorites from this brewery. It makes me happy that I can drink this style without the feeling of guilt..
