my first beer from these guys and a very modern ipa overall, despite the sort of old school nature of the way the brand presents itself, art, beer names, other styles they brew, this is right on trend and very good, more drinkable than most too. its nice and hazy, but still a glowing yellow bright glass of beer, good white head from the tap both times ive had it so far. the aroma is a little peachy, with some citrus and a slight mosaic sort of cat pee thing, but it smells fresh and new, and has some dry cereal grain support, no apparent sweetness or crystal malts at all. the taste is also stone fruit forward, with a little pineapple, lemongrass, and tangerine complexion, just a touch of bitterness later on to help it finish, which i really like in these styles. there is a rawness to the grain thats cool, earthy wheat and maybe oats too, its smooth and its bone dry, even with the juicy hops climaxing late. good carbonation too, which i kind of need in my hazy beer now, this never gets heavy at all, even as it warms up. a well made and well balanced beer, maybe not the most original hop profile in the world, perhaps citra and mosaic driven, i dont know, but i really enjoyed it! i need to track down some more beers from these guys and see if this is just a fluke or if they are for real!
