At Tenaya Creek we believe that all good parties begin and end with a great beer. To commemorate a festival that's been raging since 1810, we've kept to tradition by using the finest Vienna and Munich malts. German Magnum and Czech Saaz hops round out the malty sweetness to produce and old-world favorite that is sure to please. Let us toast! Ein Prosit!

Malty with a slightly boozy end finish. To me, it seems somewhere between a Marzen and the modern lighter colored Fest Biers with a bit of a Bock twist. Not knocking it, it’s actually really good and smooth, just does not fall neatly within traditional style categories that I think of. I enjoyed this.

Had on tap at the brewery taproom. Good color and clarity but not much head. Aromas just ok, but flavors nail the authentic German notes--bready but crisp. One of the best US-made examples I’ve had.

22 oxz bomber from Total Wine. How this beer could miss so many marks is beyond me. Funky, musty aroma bordering on sour. taste is overly sweet malt, cooked vegetables. Just off and nasty all the way around. I had hoped for much better.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, toast, earth, and nut aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, earth, nut, and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but has a fairly aggressive amount of hop bitterness for the style in my opinion.

Purchased this in a 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods in Las Vegas. Poured into a Stella glass... LOL
appearance: Clear light amber color - what would normally be expected or similar too most Octoberfest beers. Medium carbonation appropriate for style. 1/4" creamy white head that lasted 3-4 minutes with normal lacing on the glass sides.
smell: Nice malt nose; some bread - very light with hops. Very nice overall.
taste: I like this beer. Not as much as Gordon Biersch Octoberfest...yes...Gordon Biersch, but I really like it. I think it's definitely better than Sam Adams Octoberfest. Nice overall malty flavor, somewhat sweet with light hop notes. The beer is only 6% but I can pick up the alcohol surprisingly. There is some hop flavor and slight hop bitterness at the end - very nice...very good.
mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation that is style-appropriate.
overall: Nice color, malty nose with some hops, medium body and cabonation. Very nice OF beer!
comments: This was pretty tasty. I'm not generally a big fan of Octoberfest beers, but I did like this one very much and would drink it again. Espcially if serverd by a nice German girl... You get the picture. ;-)

Poured into a Spaten tumbler. Bright, clear, copper color. Large carbonation bubbles lead to a small two finger head, that is off white and soapy in appearance. Lace is sticking in a nice lace pattern and as I finish this tall glass off, the lace is from top to bottom. Quite nice.
Smell is quite like I expected, must, yeast, European malts and hops. Maybe some banana.
Taste is quite nice, mild fall spice, coriander, allspice. The Munich malts are there with some sweetness and the Magnum and Czech Saaz hops add some musty flavors.
Mouth is very thin, with mild carbonation. Thin body and a dry quick finish.
Overall I think this isn't half bad. I am not a fan of any European styles and probably only liked this because this doesn't taste like it's supposed to. I don't think this should be as thin as it is but again I kind of liked that too. Pick it up if you get the chance.

This is a very good oktoberfest/marzen.
Pale amber, it has a medium off-white head very slowly shrinking to a foamy ring and a bit of lace.
Aroma is strong toasted barley, baked apple, light caramelised bread, light earthy-honey element.
Taste is honeyed bread, toasty bitterness, peppery and spicy. It has nice balance, lingering light peppery/spicy bitterness, faintly herbal-medicinal.

22oz bottle into SN hop tulip imperial pint glass. Bottle courtesy of Rizalini.
A: Pours a bright, deep, copper with a couple fingers of greasy off-white head that faded into a long lasting film which left a network of thin lace down the glass.
S: Light notes of toast, pale malts and just a touch of herbal hops. There is something vaguely meaty about the smell, but I get no trace of smoke. It just smells ‘hearty’.
T: Crips and dry notes of cracked grains, clean and lightly sweet German malts, with a finish full of spicy, peppery, leafy and green tasting hops. The aftertaste is bready and cracker-like. No sugary sweetness lingers after the swallow.
M: Medium body, soft carbonation, with a good slick viscosity to the mouthfeel. This beer finishes dry and refreshing.
O: A very solid lager that is super flavorful and easy to drink without be too sweet or malty. This would go great with pretty much any food or any occasion. Thanks again Bryin.

Poured a bright clear golden color with a thin head that lasted for part of the drink. The aroma was sweet. The taste was somewhat weak for an oktoberfest, as the malt level seemed a bit short. Only a slight hop bitterness was detected. The sweet malt was noticeable on the tongue for a minute after swallowing. The carbonation level was good. I found this to be drinkable even though this was a weaker oktoberfest.

This seasonal brew poured a light golden with full white foam that left good lace. The smell is very modest, but malt could be detected. The taste is malty with a slight sweetness, with some floral hops in the finish. Medium body. The mouthfeel is clean and smooth with nice lingering floral hops at the finish. The drinkability is very good.
