The deep red color gives you a hint of this ale’s full flavor. It’s rich maltiness comes from Crystal and Vienna malts, and Golding and Cascade hops give it a subtle bitter finish.

Looks nice, red and amber with good clarity, mild off white head. Aroma is hoppy, better than most red ales, I remember when this was like their 2nd hoppiest beer. These days, you still feel like the hop aroma is a little wanting though. Hops arms race yall.
Taste, plenty of bitter cascade impact. Its a beer that is assertive with its bitterness, but enjoyable. Would revisit.

Comes out of the tap a clear mahogany with a pale tan head. Malty aroma has hints of cloves and hops. Strong malty flavor has notes of cloves and horehound and a subtle hoppy undertone plus something of an alcohol nip. Thin but smooth body has light fizz.

A pretty red color, almost identical to their Citra Pale Ale. Aroma allows the Vienna and English malt to come out to stick it firmly in the middle of the road red ale aroma department. Mild disappointment when the hops don't come across.
Taste, nice bitter zing of the cascade hop ups this right away from your standard red ale. And its big, in terms of abv and bitterness. Not a lot of delicate touches here, this one is big upfront and around, but despite that seeming balance, the bitterness still clocks in pretty high. But it is enjoyable for its assertiveness.

Clear but deep red color. Aroma was decent but not spectacular.
Taste is solid and to style, with more of a hop kick than most red ales. Mouthfeel was almost right but just a bit too light.
Overall, this beer is very tasty and drinkable.
Sampled at the brewery on 4/13/08.

Rich red color with a slight amber tint and a nice head with good lacing.
Smell is a bit malty with predominate hop esters and slight citric notes. Very inviting and no trace of alcohol.
Taste is very nice. No alcohol in sight and a very nice hop bitterness that doesn't overshadow the malt. Much more robust than any red ales I've tried. Very nice finish leaving a slight hop tickle and a clean palate. Stays tasty even when warming up a bit.
A very good Red Ale, but a "large" glass will certainly catch up and beat you with a silent barrage of 8% abv goodness.
