Made in the tradition of German style wheat beers, which are famous for their distinct clove, vanilla, and banana aromas. Our Bavarian yeast strain contributes these signature characteristics to a beer that is light, tangy, and refreshing. Enjoy it with a slice of lemon as is customary in southern Germany.

Pours a nice hazy golden, typical of a hefe but still attractive. Strong wheaty and lemony aroma has a hint of yeast. Refreshing wheaty flavor has a lively, tingly texture. Body is average but the tingle persists. Perfect for a sweltering summer day.

This beer really looks, smells, and tastes like I think a hefeweizen should. Very authentic and german-tasting. Citrus (taste and smell) is solid and balanced well by wheat. Mouthfeel is definitely right. No lemon needed here, baby - this is an excellent hefeweizen.

Sampled at the brewery on 4/13/08.
