Doppelbocks are the “port wines” of beer - smooth, rich and complex. Named after the brewmaster’s grandfather, this lager has a balanced malty sweetness with a warm toasty finish. Served only in 10 oz glasses the “HOOCH” is quickly becoming stuff of legend around here.

Nice cloudy brown color, with an almost viscous appearance if that makes any sense. Frothy tan head with quite a bit of lacing.
Smell is strong and malty, even a bit nutty, with a definite note of alcohol.
Taste is strong, sweet roasty malt with some nuttiness and a faint floral hop finish. Alcohol is definitely noticeable. There is a lot going on here, and it all works together quite well.
Mouthfeel is full and thick with a nice lively carbonation.
Wow. This is one to remember. This is a very good dopplebock that I would definitely like to try again. I am a big fan.
