Beer pours a mahogany color. I'm already puzzled because Schwarzbiers are supposed to be black - at least darker than this. It doesn't look bad; it just doesn't look like a Schwarzbier. Body is light, taste is rather complex. I got some clove spice and roasted malts, but for me it was dreadfully unbalanced and strange. I couldn't even finish the sampler glass of it.

This tasty schwarzbier comes out of the tap a clear dark mahogany. Malty aroma has notes of cinnamon and cloves. Malty, spicy and slightly hoppy flavor has a hint of horehound. Smooth, firm body has plenty of fizz. Try this one if you’re ever in Reno.
