Elderflower "Durmliner" Weisse
Flat looking, pale gold without much in the way of head. Smells of apple tartness, slight syrup, and light flowers. Flavor is similarly apple-y, sweet and juicy, without enough sour acidity. Decently dry and light bodied with moderate carbonation. Increase the attenuation, dial up the tartness, and lower the ABV and we’d have something more enjoyable. I like the idea, just not the execution. I understand it’s a twist on the style, but certain things are to be expected: refreshment, effervescence, sourness, and a low alcohol content. It just doesn’t deliver.
