Poured from a bomber into a snifter, the beer is jet black and smooth on the pour, with a thin halo of off white head. Aromas of rich vanilla and bittersweet chocolate, with a solid dose of tequila booze, and subtle chili heat. Flavors are solid bittersweet chocolate forward, with subtle chili heat. Tequila and agave follow, providing tangy booze and subtle warmth, as well as some rich vanilla and cream notes. Very smooth and full feel, with a tequila, chocolate, and vanilla blended aftertaste. Smooth, light finish, with a solid chocolate and tequila finish, as well as some peppery spice.

Appearance: Pours fudge brown with color with the head foaming up into a modest cap; spotty lacing hangs around
Smell: The aromatics of the Tequila barrel come through on the aroma, complementing the chocolate and slightly charred roasty tones
Taste: Roast, char and chocolate forward, with the the Tequila barrel tones underpinning; the flavors meld together nicely after the swallow and through the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: The Tequila barrel adds a nice tone to the stout, bringing elements of reposado or añejo to the palate (this ain't no salt and lime Tequila we are talking about here)
