Brumley Forest is a foraged nut Baltic Porter that reflects Fullsteam's mission to "connect with the land and with one another." In the fall of 2017, a handful of foragers -- led by head brewer Brian Mandeville -- wandered the woods of Brumley Forest, a tract of land owned by the Triangle Land Conservancy, collecting hundreds of pounds of black walnuts and hickory nuts. The brewery crew labored for weeks to cure and prepare the nuts for brewing.
The result is a velvet smooth lager with a distinct black walnut aroma and a silky mouthfeel.
One dollar for every bottle sold goes back to Triangle Land Conservancy to support their mission of land protection and environmental education.

Very dark brown, almost opaque. Opaque. Topped with a half finger of light beige head. The smell is of wintergreen, licorice, and root beer. The taste is of root beer, licorice, slightly sweet, and dark toasted notes. Medium, slightly sticky body with lots of carbonation. I Purchased this in Waynesville at Blue Ridge beer hub and I’m drinking it in the mountains August 4, 2023.

Taste: Roasted malt forward with hints of dark chocolate, sassafras and dark fruit; spicy with a black walnut tone developing; lingering flavors of fruit and nut
