Black color, tan head. Visible flocculation clinging to the glass. Bitter, dark chocolate notes are well pronounced. Hint of coffee, too, but I wish it came out more. It’s a breath of fresh air to have a chocolatey stout that isn’t sickeningly sweet. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Slightly warming, but it avoids an alcoholic taste. The finish is very pleasant. As usual with Fullsteam, a lot of local ingredients in this one: malts from Epiphany (Durham), coffee from B&W Roasters (Wake Forest), and cocoa nibs from Videri (Raleigh).
