On tap October 30, 2011.
Golden-bodied. Just a ring of head, but a stream of bubbles moves quickly upward. Nice clarity.
Pretty clean Belgian yeast notes alongside light banana esters. Fairly "mild" (or clean) overall, with a faint butterscotch sweetness.
At first, I have a hard time differentiating flavors. Definitely a lingering, yeasty bite. Faint tropical fruit and some terroir/earthiness. There's some pleasing heat (it's 8.8% after all) as it warms, with a reasonably dry finish.
Just over medium carbonation, though it is nice and prickly. Medium bodied.
Much better as it warmed. Slightly muddled, but pretty tasty overall.

Very light yellow, BL-esqe in appearance. light and bubbly , with a decent half-inch head.
Bubble gum and banana really dominate the nose. Smells like a hefeweizen; definitely doesnt smell like its 9%!
For once, an NC brewery that doesnt overuse Belgian yeast!Yeast feels like a light bread. The esters heavy on banana, with hints of bubble gum and other sugary candy. Malt leaves a crisp feeling that keeps all the ester-fruitiness in check.
There is no way the ABV is correct. The alcohol is really non-existent. Very smooth with a light feeling and a yeasty finish.
