This beer has a lot going on.

Pours dark and extremely thin. The beer is highly carbonated, has a lot of thin-puffy head, and lace is good and reamins on the glass throughout the beer.

Smells of fruity something, very light oak and chocalate, and SODA! Not sure exactly what gives it that smell but does have a type of cola/soda/pop smell to it.

Taste is great, light and carbonated, definitely not a heavy beer, the bourbon and oak really are displayed in the taste more than the smell.

This beer is light, carbonated really well, light on the bourbon/oak flavors, but really good. Of course the beer is 6%, so I believe the mouthfeel/flavor.appearence is right now par. Definitely worth a try.

catching up on an oldie here - this was late 2011, entered from notes

a: glass at the brewpub on a Sunday with glorious food truck barbecue, the barreled version of this unique stout is a deep brown in color, holding up a nice head with light retention

s: smooth roasted malts give thinned chocolate aromas alongside fruity banana esters, toasted malt, vanilla, and a gentle undercurrent of woody bourbon

m: lighter in carbonation but a touch prickly, body on the thinner side of medium

t: all the notes of the standard working man’s persist here, but are smoothed over with the added gift of gentle bourbon barrel notes, mellow flavors of vanilla, mild banana esters, toasted sugar, and clean roasts, lingering finish with only a mild hop presence

o: nicely done with a light, complimentary barrel presence - a touch necessary to apply bourbon to a smaller beer, drinks well
