Sampled on-tap at the brewpub in April 2006.
This Imperial Cherry Stout poured a jet-black color with creamy, brown foam that slowly settled and clung to and coated the glass. The beer was clear, dark brown in color near the edges if held to the light. The smell was dark roasted malts with a strong cherry aroma. The taste had a cherry liquer type flavor together with rich, roasted malt, and low hoppiness apparent through the malt and cherries. The mouthfeel was dry and very smooth and creamy with full body and moderate carbonation. The cherry flavor lasted from start to finish and lingered aftwards. This was a pretty good stout, but it was not much like an Imperial except in ABV. It was somewhat like a Dry Irish Stout with cherries in mouthfeel and flavor. It was served in a 10-12 oz snifter.
