on tap at the triple 7 brewpub (special edition brew brewed on 6/6/06)
A- brillant soft orange to copper color, 1/2" white head with decent retent that settles to ring, thin lace
S- clean and malty, with some citrus, pleasent but not strong.
T- sweet and malty up front then you get a citric hop attack, sweet syrupy alcohol finish that provides a warm burn, then the malts return for a pleasent aftertaste. Nice balance. Imagine that the alcohol feel gets pretty harsh as this thing warms up.
M- full (not syrupy but heavy) body
D- sipper for sure, an enjoyable and memorable barleywine.
