This beer came on tap and poured out a hazy gold colour. It smelled sweet, wheaty and malty, with a hint of citrus. The flavours were bright, and consisted of sweet light malt, wheat, and banana fruit notes from the yeasts; flavourful and very drinkable.

Sample at the brewpub (as Hefe-Wei-Zen). This beer is a cloudy yellow lemonade color with a medium thin bone white head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of wheat, banana and cloves. Light, clean body with wheat and spice flavors and banana along for the ride the whole time. The finish is wheaty with a lingering malt and spice aftertaste. Tastes better than it looks, but that is not saying a whole lot.

Pours nice and cloudy, the color of lemonade. White head lasted a full half hour with the orange slice in it!
Smell is yeast, malt, citrus with a hint of hops.
Taste is yeast, malt, banan, citrus, hops and a very light clove/pepper note. Good balance.
A little watery, light body and light effervescence. good brew, good flavor and nose but it needs some umph, some body to it.

Consumed 05/09/08 at the brewery.
Served with a lemon, which I quickly removed and placed into my Diet Coke.
A pale, cloudy yellow beer: the only brew they served that wasn't crystal clear. Small ring of foam for a head.
No aroma.
Grass and lemon flavors appear first, followed by bananas. Tangy! Wheat flavor present but subtle. A bit too dry on the finish: parching.
A respectable attempt, though I think it was closer in flavor to a Hoegarden than a Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse.

This was the Brewmaster Special in April 2008.
Appearance: hazy dark golden in color with a one finger head that lasted a bit. Some soft lace spots stick to the glass.
Smell: wheat and banana are soft but easy to poull out of the glass.
Taste: wheat, banana, lemon zest, and a hint of background spiciness. Simple but tasty and refreshing hefe.
Mouthfeel: crisp throughout with a bit of dryness near the end. Aftertaste is short-lived. Medium bodied beer.
Drinkability: very quaffable and enjoyable. Several of these can be enjoyed in a single session.

Sampled on-tap at the brewpub (April 2007).
This hefeweizen poured a cloudy, yellow-brown color (typical of style) with white foam that settled. The smell was lemon-citrus with a touch of banana and some wheat maltiness. The taste was sharply citric with flavors of lemon and mild banana. There was a good wheat maltiness with yeast flavors in the finish. The mouthfeel was sharp upfront (citrus), mellowing to smooth and malty. The body was medium-light with good carbonation. The finish was yeasty. This was a good, moderately flavored and bodied hefeweizen, but easy drinking and refreshing.
