Sampled at the Triple 7 brewpub, in the casino, and at Big Dog's Draft House the weekend of Oct. 2nd, 2010.
This Black IPA poured a dark brown, almost black color, with light tan foam. The smell was very hoppy with the aroma of citrusy, piney NW hops. Very nice. The taste was dominated by hops, but with a nice malt balance. The hops were strong and piney, and the malt was not roasty or bitter. A very nice black IPA. The mouthfeel was dry, with medium-full body, and good carbonation. The hops were present throughout and lingered nicely with a touch of malt. This was a very drinkable and enjoyable IPA.
