Top notch pub and one of the best experiences during my time in Dublin. Helps that it was around the corner from the hostel I was staying at. A narrow but long space with a slightly upscale vibe. The snack/full menu confirms that. Vibrant, cozy space with very friendly barkeepers. Some great beers on draft and plenty of whiskey. Scotch egg was delicious! Really enjoyed my time here.

Stopped in here with my Wife, Dad, and Brother while on vacation. Its a bit outside of the city center but luckily we were also staying a bit outside and it was a fair walk from our hotel. Long room with the bar against the right wall and a dining only area deep in the back. Somewhat empty bar with only a few other patrons at 8pm on a Wed night. Warm dark wood everywhere mismatch of chairs and stools creaky wood am Irish pub! They had maybe 20 or 30 taps with more micros than I'd seen in one place on this trip and also an extensive bottle list that was at least a hundred deep. Mostly Irish but USA and other parts of Europe represented as well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I seemed to not be as shocked by the bill as I'd been on previous night or maybe it was the 4 or 5 rounds who knows. This was the best beer centric stop we made in Ireland, I would go back if in Dublin again.

I visited on August 10th and was excited to see this new addition to the craft beer scene in Dublin. They have one of the widest selections of Irish made craft beers that I found and even had a few not seen at the Bull & Castle. The list was rounded out with some interesting Belgian, American, and British, but I was all about the Irish (no Guinness, Miller or Budweiser to be seen!). A bit off the beaten path, but not too far of a walk North of the Liffey from the Porterhouse or Bull & Castle. This should be a new must stop for anyone searching for craft beer in Dublin. I didn't try the food, but the limited menu looked good, and was also focused on Irish grown/produced produce and meats. I look forward to trying it on a return visit.

This is a re-opening (July 2010) of an old pub in the area of Stoneybatter in central north-of-the-Liffey Dublin.

The team who have taken over the pub have a passion for craft beer so you will not be offered Guinness on tap. This is very brave of them! They do offer Belfast Blonde, Galway Hooker, O'Hara's stout, Headless Dog and Trouble Ór (all Irish craft brews) on tap as well as Leffe blonde and Staropramen. They have a great selection of bottled beers also.

The atmosphere is quiet (no TV) with music on in the background. They have ambitious plans to run the place as a gastropub, and it will be interesting to see how this pans out (they do not have a full food menu straight from startup).

It is a great addition to the beer scene in Dublin, though might suffer from it's location being slightly off the beaten track.

EDIT: the nearest tram (Luas) stop on the Red line is "Museum" and then it's a short walk up Blackhall place and it's located on your right.

SECOND EDIT (August 2010): I can now report that they do seriously good food !
