Coming in at 8.5% ABV and 51 IBUs, this double IPA has wonderful aromas of Meyer lemon, grapefruit and biscuit malt that lead into a dry finish. Notes via stream of consciousness: Imperial India Pale Ale? YES!!! It's poured a clear golden body beneath a finger-thick head of white foam, and while I was pouring it I could smell the hops coming off of it. It's bright and fresh with hop resins, grapefruit, soft lemon, peach, tangerine, and a light minty-herbal note. The flavor follows but it's not as bold as the aroma might suggests. The malt is pretty straight-forward 'golden & biscuity' which doesn't interrupt the hops and supports them nicely with its sweetness, but the hops are just not there in force... which is OK, this isn't a hop bomb but more of a balanced and drinkable double IPA which I can get behind. I do wish it had a little more depth of character though. Still, maybe I shouldn't complain, the alcohol is well hidden and there are no fermentation flaws. How strong is this? Just 8.5%... ahh, yeah, then the alcohol should be kept in check. In the mouth it's medium in body and gently crisp-then-smooth across the palate. It's very easy to drink if you're not allergic to hops and/or a very firm bitterness - 51 IBU's is it? That's not much more than a lot of pale ales, and just slightly less than some standard IPAs, yet it remains very nicely balanced and not sweet at all. If there's a drawback it's the head. It dropped fairly shortly and didn't leave much lacing, but that's a minor issue within the whole. Overall, very nicely done. I'd like a little bit more of a punch of hops in the flavor but I certainly can't fault it as it is - it is what it is and it's not my job to direct it. Worth trying.

Knee Deep has a talent for West Coast IPAs, and this was no exception. It doesn't have the multi-hop complexity of Breaking Bud, but it comes at you straight, and smacks your right between the eyes. Total hop immersion!

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a faint amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short bright white head covering the surface that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose—lemons seem to stand out most prominently among the aromas.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of citrusy hops in the front end followed by faint hints of pine towards the back end. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The hop aromas and flavors in this beer seem to be very concentrated, almost like a beer that was made with lupulin powder. This beer drinks exceptionally well considering that any traces of alcohol are hidden from the taste.

Medium gold and clear (a clear beer!) with 2-3 fingers of off-white foam on top... I'm not sure of the canning date, since there is none on the can, but if this is a one-off item brewed back in the winter, man, has it done well with time! A classic pine resin and grapefruit pith DIPA, medium-full-bodied and smooth... Nice airy pine with a little chewy, resinous, slightly dank underbelly, and dry pithy grapefruit kicking up some fruit, citrus and zest; solid bitterness leaves a moderate tongue-gripping shellac... Sweetness moderate, too, suggestive of caramel resin-coated citrus and orchard fruits, but that taut, lean bitterness takes the fore and creates a real nice call for more of the same... Impressed with everything except the lack of a canning date...

The beer pours out a clear medium golden color, with 1 finger of white head--------------- the aromas are pungent with papaya, pine and floral notes---------------- the flavors are mostly pine and citrus, with a medium mouthfeel and a bitter pine finish--------------- overall it's another solid west coast ipa from knee deep, they do what they do

Can poured into a Knee Deep Brewing Co snifter
A: Pours golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves some spotty lacing.
S: Floral, zesty citrus, light fruity notes, biscuity malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Super floral, bright citrus, candied lemon and grapefruit, faint fruity notes, apricot, cantaloupe, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, super drinkable.
O: You don't have to get too crazy to brew a tasty DIPA. I'm guessing this one uses mostly classic C hops and it turned out beautifully. I would happily
