Motor oil thick black ale with a small brown colored head.
Smells strongly of patent roast malt and chocolate. Boozy scent. There is a fruit here, dried cherries.
Starts out Mildly sweet with a coffee taste. Medium bitter bite, more of a warning to not chug. Warming in the chest and stomach from the alcohol, but no alcohol taste. Slight berry taste.
Mouthfeel is milkshake thick.
Over all a good sold Imperial IPA. No flaws.

Appearance - Pours black with cola brown edging. Tan, half finger width head that doesn't hold long before dying to a thin, broken layer of suds across the surface, thickening up into a ring around the edge of the glass. Lacing is fair, with it's share of broken lines and small spotting decorating the glass.
Smell - Mostly chocolatey on the nose, with lesser roast, hint of smoke, and a vague, dark fruit character.
Taste - Follows the nose. Chocolatey upfront and throughout, with lesser roast and a tinge of smokiness. Back end adds a lot of dark fruit notes, hinting at fig and plum, before a fairly even keeled finish.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, slightly creamy before quickly turning a dry finish.
Overall - Really solid Imperial Stout. The Belgian yeast used definitely helps to impart that tasty dark fruit aspect that sets this apart from most other impys. Almost reminiscent of the Founders Imperial. I would definitely drink this again.
