Can poured into a Knee Deep Brewing Co imperial pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that slowly settles to a firm layer and laces beautifully.
S: Bright juicy citrus, tropical and stone fruit, a light pine, slightly grassy, biscuity slightly crackery malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Zesty citrus, pink grapefruit, mandarin orange, lime, and lemon, a little resinous pine, underlying tropical and stone fruit, guava, passion fruit, and apricot, light grassy notes, crackery biscuity malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: This one was throwing my brain for a loop for a bit. Mosaic alone doesn't usually taste like that, and dare I say some of the fruity notes seemed suspiciously juicy. Then I spotted the "with natural flavor" line on the label. Now it makes sense. I'm guessing they added a POG concentrate or something similar. Really wish they were more open about that in the description. Don't get me wrong, as a fruited IPA it works, but it feels a bit out of balance. I wish more fruity notes from the hops came through and the fruit addition built off of that, instead of the hops seemingly mostly just providing the bitterness.
